The well-being of our students is also our top priority.

How can we give support to the students?

Future International Academy prioritizes the social well-being, welfare, and a safe, secure learning environment for all students. To support this, the school has dedicated Section Supervisors, a Social Worker, and a team of Inclusion educators who work collaboratively to assist students.

As part of the enrollment process, students undergo a series of assessments and interviews to identify any additional learning needs or support requirements. Based on these findings, the school provides parents with detailed recommendations and guidance tailored to their child’s needs.

Our qualified Social Workers and Inclusion team ensure that all students are supported within an inclusive, safe, and nurturing learning environment. At FIA, we are committed to establishing and maintaining best practices in child protection and safeguarding, ensuring the well-being of every student at all times.

Students’ Well-being

To support the well-being and personal development of all students, the school provides a wide range of opportunities for student engagement and participation. These include the Student Council, Scouts, Student Leadership Programs, and various clubs that are open to students across all phases. These initiatives aim to promote independence, responsibility, and resilience among FIA students.

The school also organizes field trips within and beyond Al Ain for students from Grade 1 to Grade 12. These trips are designed to be both educational and recreational and may take place during weekdays or weekends.

Throughout the academic year, a variety of events and celebrations are held, including National Day, Flag Day, International Day, the FIA Bazaar, Career Week, Innovation Week, Reading Week, as well as multiple competitions and tournaments.

At FIA, we believe in providing students with meaningful opportunities that connect learning to real-life experiences, ensuring their holistic growth and development.

Additional Learning Needs / Gifted and Talented

At Future International Academy, we are committed to ensuring that all students are provided with equitable access to learning opportunities in a supportive and inclusive environment. This includes students who may require additional support as well as those who demonstrate high levels of ability across a range of domains.

The school has a structured system in place to identify students through ongoing observation, assessment, and collaboration with parents. Teachers play a key role in recognizing both learning needs and advanced abilities across academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental areas. Parents are engaged early in the process, contributing valuable insights into their child’s strengths, interests, and areas for development.

Additionally, educators regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly, providing personalized support and challenges as needed.

Aligned with UAE Federal Law No. 29 of 2006, Future International Academy is committed to protecting the rights of individuals with disabilities. The school has established a dedicated SEN Department to support People of Determination and ensure their full inclusion within the school community.

The SEN Department provides appropriate educational support through targeted academic interventions tailored to each student’s needs. It works closely with teaching staff to identify learning difficulties, provide continuous support, and ensure access to necessary services and consultations.

Goals of the SEN Department:

SEN department follows certain procedures to identify and support students with learning difficulties.

Future International Academy recognizes that students may demonstrate high levels of ability in different ways and across multiple domains.
A gifted student is one who demonstrates exceptional natural ability in one or more areas of human development. This ability is often evident without formal training and may be observed through advanced thinking, creativity, or academic performance.

A talented student is one who has developed their natural abilities consistently high levels of performance in a specific area. This may include areas such as sport, the arts, leadership, or other specialized skills.

The School recognizes the following domains of Giftedness:

Social
Physical abilities

Provision for these students includes differentiation, curriculum modification, appropriate pacing, and opportunities for enrichment, extension, and acceleration both within and beyond the classroom.

Support and Provision

Support is provided through a combination of inclusive classroom practices and targeted interventions. This includes both in-class support and structured small-group or individual sessions delivered outside of the classroom.
The school provides access to a dedicated resource room equipped with specialized materials, tools, and programmes to support teaching and learning. Students benefit from personalized learning plans that include clear and measurable targets, which are regularly reviewed and monitored by teachers, parents, and students.
Support also focuses on social and emotional development, ensuring that students are supported holistically and are able to participate fully in school life. Teaching strategies are flexible and responsive, allowing for adjustments based on individual progress and needs.

Specialist Support and Partnerships

As part of our commitment to comprehensive provision, the school works in close collaboration with Revital Health Clinic, an approved service provider by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge. Through this partnership, students may access occupational, speech, and behavioral support services, delivered on-site where appropriate.
This collaboration supports early intervention, enhances student outcomes, and ensures a coordinated approach between educational and therapeutic support.

Context and Key Priorities

The Inclusion Department continuously reviews its provision to ensure alignment with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge expectations and to respond effectively to identified areas for development. As part of this ongoing process, the following priorities have been established:

KEY DRIVERS FOR PLANNING AND PROVISION

The school’s approach to inclusive education is guided by the following key principles:

A structured system of documentation and review is maintained, including progress reports and parent communication, ensuring transparency and consistency in provision.

Career and Academic Counselling

Career counseling plays a vital role in helping students identify their true potential and guiding them toward appropriate career pathways. It provides students with the knowledge and support needed to make informed decisions when selecting their academic streams after board examinations.

In today’s context, career counseling is increasingly important, as many students tend to choose common or familiar fields without fully exploring their options. Through structured guidance, students are introduced to a wide range of career opportunities aligned with their interests and academic strengths.

Career counseling also involves assessing students’ abilities, helping them understand their interests, strengths, and areas for development. This enables them to set clear goals, plan effectively, and make confident decisions for a successful future.

Why is career counseling important for high school students?

Career counseling is provided within the school for students in Grades 9 to 12, as this stage is critical for selecting academic pathways and areas of specialization. It supports students in making informed decisions about the streams they should pursue.

This guidance is essential, as many students may feel dissatisfied with their chosen streams and later decide to change them. Such situations often arise due to a lack of proper awareness and guidance regarding available options that align with their interests and different educational pathways.

Through career counseling, students are able to:

Conclusion: Students, along with their parents, should begin career planning as early as Grade 10. At this stage, selecting a specific academic stream can significantly influence future career opportunities, as options may become more limited based on this choice. Therefore, stream selection should be guided by careful career planning and aligned with students’ interests and goals.

Code of Conduct

The Social Worker Department plays a key role in identifying factors within the school and community that influence students’ behavior and social development, and in supporting them to achieve their full potential. We assist students facing social and behavioral challenges by helping them develop and maintain positive behaviors.

The department provides counseling services through regular meetings with students to discuss the challenges they face and identify their underlying causes. We also support students who disrupt classroom activities or display aggressive behavior toward teachers or peers. In addition, we collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and school administrators to share information and gain a comprehensive understanding of each student’s needs. Through ongoing communication, we monitor students’ progress and support their success in overcoming challenges.

Child Protection and Safeguarding

We have established clear procedures for identifying and reporting child protection and safeguarding concerns. The school ensures that all such cases are addressed promptly, handled with sensitivity, and managed professionally in a manner that prioritizes the best interests of the child.

The school ensure that any such issues are dealt with promptly, sensitively and professionally in a way that serves the best interests of the child.

Wadeema Law, formally known as the UAE Child Protection Law, was enacted in 2016 to safeguard children from all forms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It requires any individual who suspects or becomes aware of child abuse to report it to the relevant authorities, with strict penalties imposed for failure to do so. The law also obligates parents, caregivers, and institutions to ensure a safe and secure environment for children and mandates the establishment of child protection committees within schools and other organizations.
Child protection is essential to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and safeguarding them from harm, whether at home, in school, or in the wider community. Students who encounter such concerns can seek support from FIA’s Child Protection Committee. The committee is responsible for organizing continuous awareness programs for the entire school community, focusing on children’s rights and protection.
