Social and Personal Development

Dedicated to encouraging students in achieving their academic potential.

FIA students in all grade levels are showing very strong personal and social development. The school is keen on making sure that the students behave well to contribute to a positive learning community according to the code of conduct that is approved by MOE and ADEK.

As a result, students – teachers’ relations are strong and express a high level of respect and cooperation. Students suggest and take the lead of initiatives that show their appreciation towards their teachers and the school community.

Students’ attendance and punctuality has been monitored closely by FIA through several methods including but not limited to: daily attendance following up records , the daily communication with the parents of students who are frequently being absent or late, publishing and circulating the regulations governing the attendance and absence of students, awareness sessions conducted by social workers to guide students on the necessity to adhere to regular attendance at school, encouraging students with regular attendance through the best attendance award every month.

Understanding of Islamic Values and Awareness of Emirati and World Cultures

FIA students have a strong grasp of Islamic beliefs and a deep affection for them. They recognize the importance of these principles in their daily life. They put what they learn from their awareness of Islamic into practice in terms of dealing with their peers and in the school community. This approach is reflecting on their daily life practices as we can see the minimum amount of bullying and misbehaving either with their peers or the school community. Notes of appreciation and gratitude from students to teachers are another way that expresses the students’ portrayal of Islamic values such as gratitude, respect, kindness, compassion, etc.

Students recognize the importance, relevance, and worth of the Emirati heritage and culture. They are completely aware and proud of their own culture. UAE celebrations such as the flag day and the National day have a big number of participants. They are keen to show their loyalty and appreciation towards the UAE leaders.

National Identity

The National Identity program is one of FIA major programs. It contains many aspects that attract students from all grade levels, either Emirati or Non-Emirati students. Some of these programs are related to the Emirati values, such as “Respect”. Apart from all the general school’s efforts in promoting the sense of respect in its students, the following initiatives are being implemented:

  1. UAE’s National celebrations: National Day, Flag Day and Martyr’s Day.
  2. National identity ambassadors’ initiative.
  3. Sustainability and preserving environment projects.

Social Responsibility and Innovation Skills

FIA Students are responsible and actively participating in the school’s and community’s activities. They give humanity services and volunteering great value. They have a high potential for participating in community service initiatives. The Red Crescent, volunteering and Scouts programs attract the students. They are effectively participating in “Red Crescent’s AOUN prize”.

The school emphasizes unity and belonging through its curriculum and practices. Collaborations with external entities provide opportunities for students to connect with the wider community. Continuous improvement of programs and activities promotes a sense of belonging, teamwork, and group accomplishment.

FIA students have a strong work ethics and innovative and practical ideas. Almost all the students are keen to participate in both the Career Week and Innovation Week events. They create their own projects monitored by the teachers in which they demonstrate a great level of enthusiasm and passion.

The work placement program that is organized with some external organization is one of the graduation requirements for the grade 12 students. Work placement aims to acquire some real-life work experiences. Each student must earn between 25 – 40 working hours in a chosen workplace which corresponds to the specialization of the undergraduate major in which he/ she is going to be enrolled.
